Introducing Nova Table Copy — a Chrome extension that copies tables in one click
We just launched our first Chrome extension, Nova Table Copy. It copies any table (HTML table) on a web page as CSV, TSV (Excel) or Markdown in one click.

What it does
- Automatic table detection: finds every table on the page and lists them with caption, size and a first-row preview
- Three copy formats: pick CSV, TSV (Excel) or Markdown and copy to the clipboard. TSV pastes straight into Excel or Google Sheets with columns intact
- CSV download: besides copying, you can save any table as a .csv file in one click
- Merged-cell handling: cells merged with rowspan / colspan are expanded correctly in the output
- Highlight on hover: hover a table in the list to see it highlighted on the page
How to use it
- Add the extension from the Chrome Web Store
- On a page that contains a table, click the toolbar icon — every table on the page is listed
- Pick a format (CSV / TSV / Markdown) and hit Copy, or use Download CSV
- Paste straight into Excel, Google Sheets or your Markdown editor
It's free, and no sign-up is required.
Privacy
Reading and converting tables happens entirely in your browser. The page content is never sent to a server. There is no data collection or tracking, and the extension only runs on the current tab when you click its icon (activeTab permission only).
Every feature is free.
When it comes in handy
- Re-crunching a pricing or stats table from a web page in Excel
- Collecting tables you found while researching into Google Sheets
- Pasting a table into a GitHub README or Notion as Markdown
