Introducing Nova Chart — a free chart maker in your browser

nova-chartrelease

We just launched Nova Chart, a new web tool. Paste a range from Excel or Google Sheets and it becomes a chart right away, ready to export as PNG or SVG.

What it does

  • 12 chart types: bar, horizontal bar, stacked bar, 100% stacked bar, line, area, stacked area, combo (bar + line), pie, doughnut, scatter, and radar. Click the rail on the left to switch types without touching your data
  • Straight from a spreadsheet: copy a range in Excel or Google Sheets and paste it in (first row = headers, first column = labels). CSV and TSV files can be loaded too
  • Editable data table: after pasting, edit values, labels, and series names directly in the table on the right. Adding or removing rows and series is a single click
  • Presentation controls: five color palettes, number formatting (prefixes and suffixes like $ or %, decimal places, thousands separators), a subtitle and a source caption, plus reference and average lines for targets
  • Export: PNG for slides and documents, SVG for crisp scaling, copy the image to your clipboard, or export the data back out as CSV
  • Save your work: store a chart as a .novachart file and reopen it later. Your current work is auto-saved in the browser, so you can pick up where you left off

How to use it

  1. Open Nova Chart and paste your copied table into the "Paste a table" box
  2. Pick a chart type from the rail on the left
  3. Use the Style tab on the right to set the title, colors, and number format
  4. Export as PNG, SVG, or CSV from the Export menu

No sign-up, no installation — it works the moment you open it.

About your data

Rendering and exporting happen entirely in your browser (client-side). Your data is never sent to a server, so it's safe to work with revenue figures or internal numbers you'd rather not upload anywhere.

Every feature is free.

When it comes in handy

  • Turning a sales trend into a polished image for a meeting deck
  • Preparing a clean SVG chart to embed in a blog post or article
  • Showing survey results as a pie or radar chart in a hurry
